Can You Hear the Music?

Does love exist? And if it does, can you prove it? And if you can prove it, can you force someone to give it? Or force someone to receive it? There are those who truly don't believe in love, but just because they've never experienced it, or don't feel it right now, it doesn't change the fact for those who have felt it that it's real and tangible.

Have you ever seen someone in another car at a stop light just jamming away on their air guitar or their invisible microphone? Now the chances of them doing that to silence are slim to none, but just because you can't hear the music doesn't mean it isn't there.

Another more common example is that of the rising sun, but that one is easy, it happens every single day. But what if there was one year straight of cloudy days where you never saw the sun? Would there be those who start to question if they'll ever see it again?

Sometimes life feels like that year straight (or multiple years) of cloudy days, and the clouds of life are shielding us from the joy each ray of sunshine brings. It is interesting to think though that while your life may be darkened in grief, someone somewhere else is experiencing the brightest joys of their life, or vice versa. On the day of your wedding, or the birth of your first child, someone else lost a loved one unexpectedly, or received a devastating cancer diagnosis. All things, good and bad, are happening in the same world at the same time.

Often times we put up our own umbrellas and shield out the light, but life has more than it's "fair share" of rain clouds that come through no fault of our own. So, whether your life is darkened through no fault of your own or not, believe that the light will come. The essence of believing is pursuing something that isn't currently present or visible.

This means that the future is for believers! If you're experiencing darkness right now, the light will come again. If you're fortunate enough to have light in your life, embrace it and enjoy it, and be mindful of those who might not be currently experiencing it in the same way. Do what you can to lift those around you and share the light you have.

There is music out there. Silence today does not mean that the music does not exist. Keep working to pursue what you believe or help others who cannot hear the music today. Either way, we improve our lives through the work we do to help ourselves and others through the storms of life.

"You told me it will get worse."

"It will, but then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you: You will be warm again." - Rhythm of War, Brandon Sanderson

At Believe, we are working to build a future filled with good, including music, happiness, and joy. We would love to have you join us on this journey.
